Our Doctors

Dr.EdwardsRyland B. Edwards, Jr., DVM

     Dr. Edwards is originally from Smithfield, VA.  He received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech in 1958, and in 1962 he received his DVM from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine and then began practicing veterinary medicine in Tampa, FL.  He was a Captain in the Air Force Veterinary Corps from 1962-1964.  Dr. Edwards also did a teaching internship at the University of Georgia.  He has been practicing here in Smithfield since 1966.  Dr. Edwards is married, has two sons and four grandchildren.  His special interests include client communication, gardening, fishing, conservation and wildlife.

Sharon B. O'Rawe, DVM

     Dr. O'Rawe is originally from Hillsville, VA. She has a B.S. degree in Animal Science from Virginia Tech and  received her DVM from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.  She and her husband have two daughters,  three horses, a dog and a cat.  Dr. O'Rawe's  special interest in veterinary medicine is nutrition. Outside of work she enjoys endurance riding.

F. Garrett Edwards, DVM

     Dr. Edwards is a native of Smithfield, VA.  He received his undergraduate degree from Virginia Tech and his DVM from Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.  His interests include fishing, boating, and horseback riding.  He enjoys spending time with his kids and taking vacations with them.  He also coaches soccer in his spare time.  Dr. Edwards has a strong interest in reproduction work and cattle work as well.

Hannah C. Adams, DVM

     Dr. Adams is originally from North Carolina and lives now in Suffolk with her husband Jimmy Adams and their new daughter Julia.  She received her under- graduate and DVM from North Carolina State University. She has a dog and 3 cats. Dr. Adams enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine from surgery to internal medicine, with a strong interest in exotic animal medicine ( reptiles, birds and pocket pets).

Cathleen Lombardi, DVM

     During her undergraduate years at Cornell University she attended the WH Miner Institute Summer Internship in Equine Management and was exposed to all aspects of a Morgan horse breeding and training farm.  She earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell and received her DVM from Kansas State University. During veterinary school she remained involved with equine medicine by working in the equine hospital as a technician, for the AHSA drug testing horses at shows and as as active member of the student chapter of AAEP. Dr. Lombardi is married to Captain Jay Hollingsworth. She is the proud owner of a dog beagle and a Maine Coon cat.  In her free time she enjoys traveling and cooking.

Shanna French, DVM

      Dr. French is a 2005 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has a dog named Squash that travels with her to her appointments.  In her spare time she enjoys trailering her two horses, Riser and Wizzy, around to go on trail rides.  She also enjoys reading and swimming.  Dr. French has a special interest in reproduction work and cattle work. 

Amy M. Bowman, DVM

     Dr. Bowman received her undergraduate degree from Miami University and her DVM from Miami of Ohio University College of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests include internal medicine. She lives in Smithfield with her husband, Steve and son Connor and Steve's 20 year old son Steven.  They also share the household with two dogs, Flannigan and Skip, and a cat, Mittens.  She enjoys boating, reading and spending time with her family.

Erica L. Clark, DVM

     Dr. Erica Clark is a 2005 graduate of Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine.  She did her undergraduate work at the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio.  Erica is originally from Lexington, Kentucky and has been practicing at a small animal clinic near Indianapolis, Indiana for the past two years.  Her veterinary interests are soft tissue surgery and internal medicine.  Dr. Clark is passionate about preventative medicine and understands that pets are important four legged members of our families. She has just recently moved to the area with her husband Benjamin Clark, dog Maggie, and cats Hanna and Sammie.  In her free time she reads, rides horses, plays soccer and is excited about living near the beach!  She and her husband are avid Auburn football and Kentucky basketball fans.  They try to get back to Auburn for at least one game every year.

Tracey L. Enix, RVT 

     Tracey is a native of Portsmouth, VA and attended Eastern Mennonite College and Blue Ridge Community College where she received her Associates Degree  in Veterinary Technology.   Tracey has one son, as well as three dogs, a cat and a bird.  Her interests include stained glass, gardening, glass blowing and baseball. Come by the clinic to view her beautiful art work.

 

Kristina Morton, LVT

     Kristina is a native of Smithfield, VA and  graduated from Smithfield High School and a graduate of Blue Ridge Community College distance education program for Veterinary Technology.  She is married and has a son, Connor.  Kristina has a cat named Sebastion and a dog named Banks, she lives in Suffolk.

 

Sherrie Sherry

     Sherrie is originally from Waterford, WI.  She is married,  has 2 sons, a grandson and a granddaughter.  Sherrie also has a dog named Franklin.  Her interests include quilting and reading.  Sherrie is our accomplished groomer.

 

Mary Jordan McLean DeVoss

     Mary earned a BA degree in Psychology from Mary Washington College in 1975.  She has worked as a Probation and Parole Officer for 24 years and is now retired and working with us part time.  Mary and her husband reside in the Crittenden section of Suffolk. They have two cats and one dog.

 

Shannon Chaney

     Shannon is from Windsor, VA.  She is a graduate of the Pruden center for animal assistance.  She is now attending Blue Ridge Community College distance education program and has two cats.

Melynda Morgan

    Melynda is a native from Smithfield, VA with a bachelor degree in Biology from Virginia Tech and is attending Blue Ridge Community College distance education program.  She has a cat named Leo.
